STEVE CARELL, TINA FEY TO REUNITE FOR NETFLIX COMEDY SERIES THE FOUR SEASONS
Date Night co-stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey are back together after 14 years for the Netflix series The Four Seasons. Fey is also co-creating the comedy show along with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield who had worked with the comedian on her long-running series 30 Rock. Here's what we know so far about the upcoming project.
Steve Carell, Tina Fey to star in The Four Seasons
On social media, Netflix announced that the two comedy stars would headline their next series. They wrote, "Steve Carell is set to star in The Four Seasons alongside Tina Fey! Fey is co-creating the adaptation of the 1981 feature film with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield."
The original 1981 film, The Four Seasons, was written and directed by Alan Alda. This was the actor's directorial debut and he starred in the comedy opposite another comedy legend, Carol Burnett. In the film, The Four Seasons, three couples would get together every season to vacation as a group. The comedy show will be based on the film, although it is not clear whether Carrell and Fey will take on the roles played by Alda and Burnett.
The Four Seasons is expected to begin filming later this year. Fey, Fisher and Wigfield are writing the script and are also executive producers along with David Miner, Eric Gurian and Jeff Richmond. Alda is also a producer on the series with Marissa Bregman.
Steve Carell's upcoming projects
The Office star's recent projects included FX’s The Patient and Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. Carell is currently starring in the play Uncle Vanya at The Lincoln Center. He is making his Broadway debut in New York. Later this year, he will reunite with John Krasinski for his animated family film If, voicing a character in the feature.
