SAMEERA REDDY RECOMMENDS: WHEN IN AMSTERDAM, DO THESE FIVE THINGS WITH YOUR KIDS

Amsterdam is truly a traveller's delight with its charming canals, stunning architecture, and quaint bridges. Additionally, an array of cosy cafes serving some delicious Dutch treats keep tourists wanting for more. Actor Sameera Reddy is sharing glimpses of the same as she is currently exploring the Dutch capital with her husband and two children. "Amsterdam’s name derives from ‘Amstelredamme’ indicative of the city’s origin as a dam of the river Amstel," she wrote on Instagram.

The actor-influencer shared that the city is known for its beautiful canals, quirky architecture, and lively nightlife. "It’s also a great place to find Dutch art and culture, and the city has a rich history that dates back to the 13th century!" she wrote.

Further, she shared that she missed visiting the famous Van Gogh Museum. "It’s nice to expose kids to art and unfortunately we ran short of time on this trip," Sameera added, sharing five other things you can do in Amsterdam with your children.

*Canal cruise: A trip to Amsterdam is incomplete without a canal cruise. "A group-guided canal cruise on the city architecture and history is a must," Sameera wrote.

*Tram rides: According to the actor, kids will surely love the tram rides in the city. "Visit Science Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Anne Frank House Museum, and the Upside Down House in the main city."

*Keukenhof: This tulip garden, according to Sameera, is "so worth seeing". It opens for a few months in spring every year.

*Madurodam: Located in the Scheveningen district of The Hague, Madurodam is a miniature park and features miniature 1:25 scale model replicas of the most famous Dutch castles, industrial projects, and public buildings. "This was the highlight of the trip and is super fascinating for the kids," she said.

*Efteling: It is a fantasy-themed amusement park in Kaatsheuvel, the Netherlands. "An hour away from the city, it’s supposed to be super fun. Though we couldn’t go I’ve heard fab things about it!" Sameera wrote.

In the next post, Sameera also shared her experience of visiting the Zoo De Beauval in France. "A hidden gem, this zoo is one of the best in the best," she wrote, adding that it's a three-hour drive from Paris and is a must-visit place for children.

Sharing recommendations, the 44-year-old added, "Don't miss the bird show. It was spectacular. I recommend you take the 2-day pass because you need to cover the whole pass. The pandas, gorillas, bears, giraffes, and zebras were the sweetest," she wrote, adding that all the animals at the zoo were magnificent.

Further, Sameera loved the in-depth explanation given about each habitat at the zoo. "And now how open and well-maintained it was. The cable cars were the coolest. Stay a night in the quaint town of Saint-Aignan and you will be impressed by the Renaissance castle, which dominates the city. Adorned with the famous shell of St. James and the Salamander of Francis I, it was built on the site of an ancient fortress of the ninth century. Rich in history and stunning architecture, the cobbled streets and cosy French restaurants were such a vibe."

She concluded by sharing that the family rented a car and drove around the French countryside. "It was such a great experience."
