BRITISH COUNCIL TO PAY A TRIBUTE TO SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE ON HIS BIRTH MONTH

To celebrate the legacy of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and to mark his birth month, British Council, Kolkata will host the screening of ‘A study in Pink’ the debut episode of Doyle’s famous crime-drama tv series on May 3, 5:30 pm onwards.Based on the novels by Arthur Conan Doyle, "Sherlock" offers a contemporary spin on the timeless tales of intrigue and investigation. In "A Study in Pink," Scotland Yard finds itself baffled by a series of impossible suicides, and only one man can help: Sherlock Holmes. In this modern adaptation, Benedict Cumberbatch portrays the brilliant yet eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes, while Martin Freeman takes on the role of Dr. Watson. Set in London in 2010, the series follows their first encounter as Watson seeks a flat mate and ends up partnering with Holmes to solve a series of perplexing cases.

The screening is free and open for individuals aged 18 and above.
