WWE SMACKDOWN RESULTS: AJ STYLES DEFEATS LA KNIGHT TO BECOME NO 1 CONTENDER, WILL FACE CODY RHODES AT BACKLASH

Tonight's Episode Of Friday Night SmackDown was on the road to WrestleMania Backlash with all superstars looking to make their mark on the new wrestling calendar. The episode saw two new contenders reveal themselves, A title match and the much awaited promo of the New Bloodline

AJ Styles Is The Number 1 Contender For The WWE Undisputed Universal Championship

In a rematch of WrestleMania XL, LA Knight and AJ Styles opened the show with an epic encounter. The highly charismatic megastar took early control and regained that control throughout the match. The Phenomenal One was perfectly set up for the BFT but he managed to push Knight away as he rolled out to the apron. Styles used his experience to distract the referee and attack Knight in the eyes, he followed it up with the phenomenal forearm for the win. AJ Styles will face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania Backlash in France next month. He will be the first title contender for the newly crowned champion.

‘A-Clown Down Under’ To Face The Street Profits For The WWE Tag Team Championship

In a similar segment to Monday Night Raw’s unveiling of the new World Tag Team Championship, HHH and Nick Aldis made their way out before calling Austin Theory and Grayson Waller out to hand over their titles. If there is one person you should not mess with, it is Paul ‘HHH’ Leveque and that is exactly what the newly crowned tag team champions did. Nick Aldis made it clear that he will not tolerate any disrespect in regard to HHH and went on to call them the ‘A-Clown Down Under’.

This was followed by a fatal 4 way tag team match to determine the contender for the Championship. The Street Profits, New Catch Republic, Legado Del Fantasma and Authors Of Pain took part in a high flying encounter with The Street Profits picking up the victory.

The New Bloodline’s Wrath Continues

After the destruction of his brother, Jimmy Uso on last week’s episode of SmackDown, the entire world waited to see what the heir to The Tribal Chief had to say today. It was clear by Paul Heyman’s expressions throughput the night that he had no clue what was happening. Solo started the night by asking the wiseman if Kevin Owens was there that night.

During their in ring promo, Sikoa made it clear that losing was no longer an option and out came Tommy Tuga with a beat up Kevin Owens. Owens was seen with blood on his face but KO is a fighter and he tried his best to take on the bloodline duo but a spike by Solo saw him fall to the canvas.

Is it Tiffy Time?

Tiffany Stratton’s journey from an NXT superstar to one of the brightest attractions in WWE needs to be recorded. She interrupted the main event between Bayley and Naomi and attacked both sets of superstars. This followed after Naomi defeated Stratton last week to become the number one contender for the Women’s Championship. Stratton lay both fighters in the ring before hitting them with the ‘Prettiest Moonsault Ever.’
