RAJINIKANTH'S 'THALAIVAR 171' WITH LOKESH KANAGARAJ TITLED 'COOLIE'

The much awaited title of director Lokesh Kanagaraj's film with superstar Rajinikanth, which was tentatively known as 'Thalaivar 171' as been revealed with a title teaser. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj with music scored by Anirudh, has been tilted 'Coolie'.

The makers had earlier shot for the title teaser of the film, which is said to deal with gold smuggling. The teaser features the 73-year-old superstar oozing his signature swag and style. As he fight off the gold smugglers in their hide out, Rajinikanth says, "Father and grandfather came and went. What is wrong? Which is right? play your game always. They will curse you a wretched fellow, don't get them wrong. Don't brush aside pleasure whatever path you choose. If there is enough food, wine, women, comfort and ideal mindset, even a place even in heaven is assured."

The rest of the cast remain under wraps and the announcements are expected to be made when the film goes on floors. The movie is likely to hit the silver screens by January or Summer 2025 and Lokesh Kanagaraj has already revealed that the film will be a standalone film and not part of his LCU. The maverick director had recently revealed that the pre-production work is on and that the film will go on floors in June.

The technical team includes action by stunt duo Anbu-Arivu, and cinematographer Girish Gangadharan ensures a high-octane cinematic experience.
