If reports are to be believed, Telugu character actress Karate Kalyani has been suspended from the Telugu Movie Artists Association. ‘MAA’ General Secretary Raghu Babu has reportedly issued a notice to the MAA management team to cancel her membership and suspend her from the association.
As per the details, she was suspended for derogatory comments on NTR’s statue to be inaugurated in Khammam. Earlier, she warned the statue committee that the statue would be vandalised if inaugurated as it is the statue of NTR in Lord Krishna’s avatar, and she also said that the Yadava community is upset with this.
Movie Artists Association President Manchu Vishnu, too, has reportedly issued a show cause notice to Karate Kalyani after her threatening comments were unwarranted. Though Karate Kalyani has given her explanation to the MAA Panel, the movie artists panel is said to have not been convinced; therefore, she was suspended from the association.
However, Karate Kalyani has yet to respond to her suspension, and the Telangana High Court has refused to permit the installation of the NTR statue at Lakaram Lake in Khammam district on May 28th. As per the court headed by Justice K. Lakshmanan, the proceedings issued by the principal secretary of the irrigation department of Telangana have been suspended, and the court is also said to have considered the contentions made by Chelikani Venkat Yadav, who represented his ‘Yadav Sangam," and said that NTR’s statue depicted Lord Krishna; therefore, their sentiments are hurt.
Earlier, the statue committee was said to have made changes to the statue by removing its flute and crown.
