About Challengers and Abigail

Abigail is a 2024 American vampire horror comedy movie helmed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, with a screenplay by Stephen Shields and Guy Busick. A modern take on the 1936 film "Dracula's Daughter," it depicts kidnappers demanding $50 million for the release of a powerful underworld figure's daughter, unaware she's a vampire. Alisha Weir stars as Count Dracula's daughter, alongside Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, Will Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito.

On the other hand, Challengers is a 2024 American romantic sports drama directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes. The story revolves around a professional tennis champion (played by Mike Faist) who plans a comeback with his wife (Zendaya), a former tennis prodigy turned retiree due to injury. Their journey involves facing off against another player (Josh O'Connor), who is both the protagonist's ex-best friend and the former lover of his wife. Initially set for release in September 2023, Challengers was delayed and withdrawn from being the opening film of the 80th Venice International Film Festival due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. It premiered in Sydney, Australia, on March 26 and later debuted in the United States through Amazon MGM Studios on April 26.
