TELUGU DUBBED VERSION OF MALAYALAM THRILLER NAYATTU TO STREAM ON THIS OTT PLATFORM

The acclaimed political survival thriller Nayattu from Malayalam cinema is set to enthral Telugu audiences with its Telugu dubbed version titled Chunduru Police Station. Directed by Martin Prakkat, the original Malayalam film, released in 2021, features outstanding performances by Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan and Kunchako Boban in the lead roles.

Following its success in Malayalam cinema, Nayattu also received a Telugu remake titled Kota Bommali PS. Directed by Teja Marni, the Telugu remake stars Srikanth, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Rahul Vijay, and Shivani Rajasekhar in pivotal roles. Already available for streaming on Aha, Kota Bommali PS has garnered attention for its gripping narrative and powerful performances.

Now, Aha has recently revealed that the Telugu version of Nayattu, titled Chunduru Police Station, will also be available for streaming starting April 26. With the original Malayalam version earning widespread acclaim for its gripping storyline and impeccable direction, there is considerable anticipation to witness how Telugu audiences will embrace this rendition.

Since the Telugu remake is already streaming on the OTT platform and the story is already known by the Telugu audience beforehand, there is a possibility that viewership may not be as high as expected. However, the strong points of Nayattu were the power-packed performances of the lead and thus the film can count on that to earn viewership.

Martin Prakkat helmed the Malayalam original, released in 2021. The film is hailed as a suspense thriller, with its climax twist being a standout feature. Vishnu Vijay’s captivating background score and Shjyu Khalid’s stunning visuals added to its appeal. Filming for Nayattu had started before the COVID-19 lockdowns, experiencing a pause before eventually wrapping up and releasing with limited screenings. Despite its limited release, the film became a smash hit due to strong word of mouth. It remains to be seen how the Telugu version will fare on OTT.
