'SCOOBY-DOO' LIVE-ACTION SERIES: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ICONIC MYSTERY SOLVING GANG!

A new live-action "Scooby-Doo" series is in the works, and it's coming to Netflix, the same platform that brought us "Stranger Things." The iconic mystery-solving gang is set to return in a fresh series based on the classic Warner Bros. property.

According to Variety, "Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series" is being developed with writers Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg at the helm. This one-hour drama is nearing a script-to-series deal, which means if all goes well then the series could go straight into production. While plot details are being kept secret, it's confirmed that the series will draw inspiration from the original Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

Warner Bros. Television, which recently launched the "Dead Boys Detectives" series, will produce the new "Scooby-Doo" series. Joining the team of writers and executive producers are Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, who will work with Andre Nemec and Jeff Pinkner under their Midnight Radio banner. Other executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman via Berlanti Productions, with Jonathan Gabay and Adrienne Erickson serving as co-executive producers.

The "Scooby-Doo" franchise has a long history, starting with the first animated series, "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" in 1969, created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. The new live-action project is not the first time we've seen a live-action version of "Scooby-Doo." The most well-known adaptation was the 2002 film "Scooby-Doo," which starred Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, and Linda Cardellini, with Neil Fanning voicing Scooby. This film was a box office hit, earning over 250 million USD worldwide.

Fans of 'Scooby-Doo' can look forward to this new series, which is expected to bring back the mystery-solving fun and adventure that has made the franchise a beloved classic for over 50 years.
