Kennedy is a noir film, directed by Kashyap featuring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone in the lead. The film was screened at the highly acclaimed Midnight Screening at the Cannes Film Festival where it received a 7-minute long standing ovation. Talking about the reception in an interview Anurag mentioned that the Auditorium Louis Lumiere where the screening took place can accommodate 2500 people, which is more than the entire audience who saw his last film Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat.

Capturing the moment, Sunny Leone had shared an Instagram post and wrote, “The proudest moment of my career so far! Thank you Anurag Kashyap for this moment! And Rahul Bhat for letting me be share (sic) the screen with you in this amazing performance! Love you both."

In another interview, Anurag also spoke about that one moment which triggered the story of Kennedy and it was that one stray incident of an SUV being found outside Antillia, which was full of explosives. The incident has no connection to the film but the incident triggered the effort. The story and everything else is fictional.
