"NOT JUST TODAY, I WISH PEOPLE START TO FOLLOW NO TABOCCO DAY EVERY DAY," KIRAN RAJ

World No Tobacco Day was observed on May 31 and actor Kiran Raj has joined the world in spreading awareness about the side effects of smoking.

Speaking exclusively with ETimes TV, the actor opened up about his views on the consumption of tobacco.

"Unlike my on-screen characters, I do not smoke in real life. I do not encourage anyone to consume tobacco as well. I smoke on-screen only because my character demands it. I believe in smoking is injurious to health," shared Kiran.

He added, "Smoking may provide temporary relief from stress, but it’s also important to consider the long-term health risks in the future. There are many healthier ways to manage stress, such as exercise, meditation, or spending time with loved ones. These are the simple things in life that also brings in a lot of happiness."

On the other side of the coin, the actor also shares that it's not the individual's health, passive smokers are also in danger.

"When an individual smoke, it affects the passive smokers much more. The individual is indirectly responsible for the difference in the health of a passive smoker. I feel there have to be even more strict penalties taken to avoid such issues in public," mentioned Kiran Raj.

He further summed up by adding, "Not just today, I wish people start to follow No Tabocco Day every day. yes! I know it is hard to come over it. But, if there is a stern mind about quitting, there are many ways how an individual can practice Tobacco free lifestyle. It's all in the mindset."
