Lipa also pulled double duty on Saturday Night Live on 4 May where she hosted and was the musical guest as well. For her two performances, she sang ‘Illusion’ and ‘Happy For You’.

In her monologue, Lipa made light of the fact that people accuse her of being a boring performer. She acknowledged the viral “I love her lack of energy, go girl give us nothing!” meme and in response, she said, “I didn’t give you nothing. I gave you the greatest meme of all time.”

Her third album, ‘Radical Optimism’, has been getting mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Pitchfork, a renowned music critics site, gave the album a score of 6.6. According to Spotify, the album debuted with 15.8 million streams globally.

Netizens are calling her another ‘Katy Perry’ due to the low streaming records.

One user on X wrote, “the katy perryification of dua lipa is now complete.”
