Shekhar Suman is one of the stalwarts of Indian television, having been part of the industry for nearly four decades. But when it comes to his son Adhyayan, he is still trying to find his place in the industry and there is a reason behind it.
Adhyayan made his debut with a film called 'Haal-E-Dil', which starred Nakul Mehta and Amita Pathak (daughter of producer Kumar Mangat). In an interview Adhyayan revealed that it was Ajay Devgn who spotted him at a salon and recommended him to Kumar Mangat, who was looking for a hero for the film. Adhyayan had to audition for three months to bag the part, but when he informed his father Shekhar Suman, he wasn't happy with his son’s choice. He didn't feel it was the right role for him. He advised him not to do the film but Adhyayan didn't budge to which Shekhar told him that going forward, he should not come to his father for advice on his movie career.
It was much later that Adhyayan got to know he’s got only 5 scenes in the film. He called his father and Shekhar Suman advised him not to leave the film as the producer had already invested the money. It would be unethical, so Shekhar told Adhyayan to just complete the film. Since then Adhyayan has been on his own and his father only provides him emotional support. Adhayayan was last seen in the 2022 film 'Chup: Revenge Of An Artist'. He has also gained recognition for his performance in the web series 'Ashram'.
